It is interesting how our vocabulary is betraying our lifestyle. 10 or 20 years ago nobody ever heard of a "life coach"! It was also assumed Christians with their intimate knowledge of the word of God were self-sufficient in terms of finding directions for their lives since they were led by the Spirit...
Without being facetious it is a fact that churchgoers feel the flock is not being shepherded properly. So where do you find a Christian life coach? Is there such an animal out there? What would you expect from such a person?
To look after your finances and investments that person would need to be an accountant and a share trader.
To look after your goal setting that person would need to be a manager and a motivator.
To look after your eating habits and your health that person would need to be a nutritionist, a medical practitioner and a gym instructor.
What about someone to coach you for your next date, your wedding, your separation and divorce?
What about a career consultant and someone to teach you how to sit for knowledge and IQ tests?
Surely you can't expect the best pastor to be able to do all of these!
But wait a minute - what if the church was to regain its position as a lighthouse of righteousness in a fallen world? What if people came back with a testimony like: "I went to church and they took me to their home, provided me with a job and accommodation; they offered me fellowship and moral support..."
Just look around and find someone you can bless. Then your problems will not be that unsurmountable after all.
In the meantime, to find a range of internet services to coach you online with resume writing, aptitude tests, goal setting, share trading and personal finances
click here - and yes, they are all designed by a Christian.
